En Aztlan is a book of a collection of letters and arts by Palomar College MEChA and Palomar College Students from Chicana/o literature classes . The book contains poems, works of non-ficiontion, fiction,drawings, and photography. It is an attempt to create a creative space for writers,poets, and artists. It is about dreams hopes and struggles among our youth which finds expressions of hope, love, and joy as well as sacrifice, disappointment, and pain through their creative works. It is an effort to enpower our students leaders in MEChA that are dedicated to community service.

John Valdez is a newly retired Professor Emeritus in Chicano Studies who has taught in history, Political Science, Mexican Literature, and Chicano Literature. Has been a student adviser to MEChA throughout his teaching career and chair of the Multicultural Studies Department for 30 years.
