About

Award Winning Books Directory, International Latino Book Awards

The purpose of this site is to present a collection of Award Winning Books from the International Latino Book Awards with the goal to spread visibility for Latino literature. This program helps open doors for national and international authors in the publishing world in the United States. This online listing project was accomplished thanks to the support of Amazon Literacy Partnership. Thanks to them this directory will continue to grow from here and provide book profiles from numerous books. This directory provides authors a platform where they can see their book listed with description and author biography. We hope this listing becomes a place where many people, organizations, schools, and librarians can find more Latino books to read, share and help educate others.

Disclaimer for authors: The information from each title is provided by the author. Please note that not all books are listed here, substantial amount of time is required for a complete directory; therefore, if your book(s) is not listed, please be patient as we compile all the details.

The International Latino Book Awards is a program that every year recognizes greatness in literature in both Latino writers and in non-Latinos who are writing on Latino topics. Over the past 24 years, the Book Awards program has honored the greatness of 3,470 authors and publishers in 108 categories in English, Spanish & Portuguese (www.LatinoBookAwards.org). The main categories include Children’s, Youth, Young Adult, Nonfiction, Fiction, eBooks, Audiobooks, Portuguese, Design, Translation, Poetry, Themed books, and Best First Books

Guided by the mission of having a lasting impact on the literary community, Amazon Literacy Partnership helps writers tell their stories and find their readers, empowering writers to create, publish, learn, teach, experiment and thrive. The Amazon Literacy Partnership is committed to uplifting and amplifying the voices of overlooked or marginalized writers by supporting the literacy community through grants to writing programs and nonprofit literary organizations – groups whose mission is to champion emerging writers and diversity in storytelling.

Empowering Latino Futures (ELF), formerly Latino Literacy Now, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in North San Diego County. Every day we build on more than 20 years of experience working with the Latino community to bring a combination of innovative, educational, and culturally relevant resources to this diverse community. To address the array of needs, we have developed a variety of programs that focus on lowering barriers by increasing access to education and uplifting Latino voices and talent. ELF believes that an individual’s potential for greatness is only limited by their access to resources and support.

Our mission is to remove barriers to educational and professional success for Latinos, Latinas, and other underserved communities by creating products, services, content, partnerships, and programs that lead to equal opportunity for all.
