Description
Granpa Lolo’s Matanza “The “matanza” is a living tradition in New Mexico. A matanza is a whole pig roast that feeds an entire family in the winter. The story of the autumn matanza is suitable for children. In New Mexico, it was a way for families and friends to get together over really good food. This is the story of a family through the eyes of Junie Lopez–an excited eight-year old and the experience of a family matanza.”
