Description

The Audacious Little Princesses (The Audacious Series) by Janet Breceda Wright, A.E. Wright, and Nataly Michelle Wright is the story of six little girls who find the greatness and majesty of their diverse cultural heritages. The girls all live in the same neighborhood, and although their backgrounds were different from each other, that did not deter them from being the best of friends. Sydney is celebrating her birthday party and she invites all her friends to her thematic Party. Each one of them decides to become a Disney Princess character, but Mia decides to go against them, because none of those Princesses look like her, or represent her culture. She decides to be Princess Mia. With the help of her parents Mia discovers her heritage and the other girls soon follow her example. The result is a spectacular Princess Party full of good food, family and friends, all surrounded by the discovery of culture, heritage and history, self-image and self-worth.

Reviews/Quotes

"Great, insightful-uplifting reading for children...celebrating diversity is embracing humanity." Omar Graham, Educator "As a teacher I'm always on the lookout for new and innovating books that my kids can relate to. The Audacious Little Princesses takes young kids through a world that is as diverse as the one we live in. My kids loved it and I enjoyed reading it to them. A must have for the classroom or home." Ray Contreras, elementary teacher. "Excellent book for kids...This book will uplift the spirit of any little princess. LOVED IT!" RaShuana, parent ||| REVIEWS: Reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers' Favorite THE AUDACIOUS LITTLE PRINCESSES The book is a fun and enjoyable read. The bright and colorful illustrations give the story and scenes pace and movement. All the six friends - Sydney, Mia, Audrey Rose, Aimee, Eva and Gabby - are lovable characters and they add charm and life to the story. Parents and grandparents can use this book for bedtime story-telling, and it also makes a good choice for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The message conveyed in the story - that people of all cultures can co-exist happily - is indeed a good one to teach kids. It teaches them tolerance and acceptance, and how to cope if they are living in new surroundings with others who are not from their own country and background. It's a book with an excellent message and worth having in one's personal collection.
