About the Author: Julián Guerra, TitoCÁ (illustrator)
Julián Guerra was born in Seville, Spain in 1976, and from a young age was attracted to books and the field of teaching, therefore he got his degree in Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Seville. At the same time, he began a brief but intense relationship with the theater, from the Taller de Teatro Clásico, Taldea Teatro, Cuasiteatro and Cuarto y Mitad. Since 2002 he has been a professor of Language and Literature, and as a result of fatherhood, he began writing children’s books that address all types of diversity in society today. Along these lines he also wrote “Martín y la tarta de Chocolate”, published by the editorial Samarcanda. Carlos Puerta Reguera (1986) is an illustrator and graphic artist, although he goes by the the name TitoCÁ. Born in León, he got his degree in Fine Arts at the University of Salamanca. He worked several years in the field of graphic arts and printing, and since 2016 he has been working as a freelance illustrator and designer. He has collaborated with a series of illustrations for the Leonese brands “Cave Canem!” and “Birdigan”, in various projects such as publications, illustrated kamishibais, calendars, and even a boardgame via crowdfunding. In 2016 & 2017 he illustrated the stories “Urraca y el Gran Secreto” and “El sueño de la Cultural”, respectively, by Ana María Rodríguez (editorial Péndula). In 2017 he was also the winner of the first contest of posters for the festival of San Froilán de León (León Cityhall). He is a member of PiLA (Association of Professional Illustrators of León), and recently participated in the collective fanzine “Miopía con nombre de PiLA” and the series “Marcapáginas ilustrados 2018”.
