This story is about Senora Felice, a Latina school teacher from the US that lives in Mexico and decides to buy a backpack for her teaching supplies. While shopping for a “special” backpack, she finds a bright green backpack with the face of a smiley yellow tabby cat with sparkling green eyes. She buys it and soon discovers that the backpack has magical powers that change moods when things happen to Senora Felice. At first, Senora Felice is frightened by what the backpack can do but soon learns her Gatito backpack will have a positive impact on her life. This bilingual book is written especially for children learning to speak, read and write in English and/or Spanish, in grades 2-5. This colorfully illustrated book will keep children engaged in listening and reading to find out what will happen next to Senora Felice.
