Alberto Avendaño has created a body of work in books, magazines, and newspapers and on the web. He is an award-winning journalist, writer, and translator. His writing spans the realms of politics, culture, and sports. Avendaño worked for The Washington Post for more than 10 years. He has been a TV personality in Spain and in the US he has worked on radio and TV —In June 2016 he received an Emmy Award. Avendaño is a member of the North American Spanish Language Academy and he is a founding member of the Harris Institute for Hispanic and International Communications at Texas Tech University.
