Many people talk about adventures in far-away places, but not many really want to go there. Why? Snakes, cannibals, hired gunmen and a myriad of other blood-sucking critters that make life challenging, if you let it. I didn’t let it get me down. And that’s what my story is all about, with one huge exception, the abandoned children of Brazil. that’s something I want to share with others in hopes they’ll join the battle. Most people don’t risk their lives every day when they show up for work. But Wayne Hamby did. This treasure hunter shares encounters with terrifying jungle animals, cannibals, and killers while mining diamonds in the Amazon and West Africa. Discover a host of near-death experiences and the miracles that kept this man alive.

About the Author:
Wayne Hamby

Wayne Hamby was born in Provo, UT in 1944. He spent three years serving in the Army during the Vietnam War, working with nuclear missiles. He has lived in Brazil, Mexico, and Bolivia and has done business in West Africa, Asia, Europe, and North and South America. He holds a patent for a process used to manufacture printed circuit boards. He also owns two gold refineries and a copper refinery in the United States. When he isn't busy writing, Wayne enjoy sharing his stories, visiting with family and friends, jogging, and being outdoors, preferably on mountains in the jungle. Wayne has spent the greater part of his life working to help orphaned children in Brazil by creating shelters and providing food and clothing to children in need. He and his wife raised four children, who are the joy of his life. To say Wayne Hamby was a gemstone miner and salesman was an over simplification. He was a layman archeologist, an LDS explorer, US military veteran, orphan welfare organizer, missionary to indigenous peoples, world traveler and member of the Mormon Church. Now, in his home in Payson, Utah, he can draw a crowd with stories of his adventurous years and how he used up eight and a half of his nine lives along the way.
