Los Cuentos de Pimpo, are stories based on sayings, those popular phrases that express full concepts or graceful occurrences. Humor, irony and sarcasm are present in these stories. Stories framed in a reencounter, between the author and the nickname of his childhood. Stories written in the colloquial language of Puerto Rico today, on topics of universal relevance.
About the Author: Miguel Angel Zayas
With a wide and varied academic formation, that includes Master's in School Psychology and Psychological Counseling and Doctorate in Education, with specialty in curriculum design In 2010, the Ibero-American Council of Educational Quality, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, awarded him with the Honorary Doctorate Degree, in recognition of his contribution to the alternative academic field in Iberoamerica. In 1999, he published his first collection of poems, ‘Entre Rosas y Vinos’, and in 2013, in Spanish and Portuguese ‘Expectativas’. His stories "Soberanía" and "Sentencia" were awarded in the National Contest of Story, Essay and Poetry 2009 of American University and in the Ceremony of Microcuentos 2014 of the Cofradía de Escritores de Puerto Rico, respectively. He founded the firm Editorial Zayas, for the diffusion and promotion of literary works of new writers. He has participated, as a writer and editor, in about 15 books and anthologies like ‘Versos Náuticos’, in which he was joined by eighteen poets from ten countries of Latin America and was presented in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, in the 2016. In 2016, he published his first book of narrative 'Los Cuentos de Pimpo' His articles on motivation, self-esteem, politics and education have been published in different magazines and newspapers of Puerto Rico and Brazil
